Accountant III – $25h/r
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying potential risks? We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an Accountant- Risk Management & Compliance Specialist. This full-time position pays $25.00 per hour and is a HYBRID on-site role working at Rockville, MD 20852.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop & Implement Risk Management Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive risk management plans to minimize potential risks across the organization.
· Revise Procedures & Reports: Review and refine procedures and reports periodically to identify hidden risks, non-conformities, or areas for improvement.
· Policy Drafting & Modification: Draft, update, and implement company policies to ensure they align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
· Compliance Oversight: Identify and address compliance issues, keeping policies and regulations in check for smooth operations.
· Audit Management: Compile and review all HB669 grant audit documents, ensuring processes and procedures are up-to-date and in full compliance.
· Grant Audit Experience: Demonstrated expertise in grant audit processes is essential for success in this role.
· Grant Audit Experience: Previous experience with grant audits, particularly within the health and human services sector, is required.
· Compliance & Audit Experience: You should have hands-on experience with regulatory compliance and audits.
· Risk Assessment: You must have experience creating or reviewing risk assessment files and frameworks.
· Previous experience in Health and Human Services (preferred, but we can train if you have sufficient years of experience in compliance and audits).
· Ability to develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure organizational compliance.
· Collaborative & Communicative: Strong team player who communicates openly and effectively with all team members.
· Self-Motivated & Accountable: Takes ownership of your work, proactively managing your time and tasks.
· Time Management: You’ll be able to manage multiple tasks with ease and hit deadlines on time.
· Solution-Oriented: If you hit a roadblock, you ask for help and work together to solve it—don’t leave things unresolved.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
· Certification in Risk Management, Compliance, or Audit (e.g., CRCM, CISA, or similar) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
· Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
