Certified Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of Chesterfield Health Districts (CHD) clinical team, the public health nurse will assist in immunization clinics across the district inclusive of the counties of Chesterfield and Powhatan, as well as the City of Colonia Heights. The majority of clinics will occur in one of our three clinical sites but could also include community-based vaccination events in locations such as schools, senior living facilities or other community locations. The goal is to support the need for various immunizations in the community servicing those who are more socially vulnerable. The lead will be responsible for communications with a smaller core of contract nurses (up to 2) to ensure effective communication about activities of the team. This FULL-TIME position starts at $40 per hour and is located in Chesterfield, VA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Oversee a team small core team of PHNs and support staff working on vaccinations.
- Provide quality improvement to mobile vaccine protocols and procedures
- Work with other members of CHD team to execute various clinics and mobile events that align with CHD strategic framework
- Attend vaccine events and administer vaccines that could include COVID and Mpox vaccines.
- Manage schedule of contract PHN team
- Approve timesheets of contract PHN team
- Spearhead, in conjunction with other CHD leaders, planning of vaccine events to serve the community.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- At least 6 months experience administering COVID vaccinations.
- Experience working in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.
- Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
- Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Licensed RN in the State of Virginia.
- Previous experience administering COVID vaccines within the last year
- Previous experience administering ACIP scheduled vaccines to children
- Supervisory or clinical team lead experience
Recommended:
- BSN degree.
- At least 6 months experience administering COVID vaccinations.
- Experience working in a fast-changing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
- Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
