SUMMARY:
ATHENA Consulting is an award-winning staffing firm serving state and local governments.
We are currently recruiting a Disability Case Developer for one of our clients in Olyphant PA. This 40-hour-per-week position pays $19.23 per hour and requires a pre-employment criminal background check and drug testing.
The Disability Case Developer will develop medical files from start to finish for clients applying for Medicaid disability through the state of Colorado.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
- Develop linkages and collaborate on an ongoing basis with Eligibility Sites to facilitate Medical Assistance Process for persons with disabilities.
- Contact providers from Medicaid Disability Applications to obtain the client's objective medical documentation and complete a Medical Eligibility review for the state of Colorado.
- Will compose letters, correspondence, and memos regarding independent judgment regarding content.
- May compile and analyze information from a variety of sources to assist in the preparation of full case development for Medicaid Disability Determination.
- Data will be utilized in monthly reporting schedules. Must be knowledgeable of procedures and program requirements to respond to inquiries and to explain services, policies, procedures, and rationales to customers, clients, and treating sources for Medicaid Disability Determination.
- Assured thorough development of medical files for clients applying for Medicaid disability through the state of Colorado.
- Maintain accuracy during case development and track diary dates in all stages of the case process.
- Contact the client within 24 hours to confirm and request additional documentation.
- Send releases for objective medical documentation to treating providers within 48 hours.
- Complete follow-up with all providers within 5 business days and log activity.
- If sufficient objective medical documentation is not received within 45 days, schedule a consultative examination for primary impairment.
- Notify clients within 24 hours of scheduling consultative examination of details regarding their appointment and request confirmation from them that they will attend.
- Perform necessary follow-up with a client if confirmation is not received.
- Obtain sufficient objective medical documentation within the 60-day requirement.
- Confer with Disability Review Team Counselors on a case-by-case basis regarding documentation and disability and refer case to Disability Review Team.
- Input case results in the computer system and sends allowance/denial notice to the client within 3 days of completion.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree and medical records background desired.
- Must have excellent phone/people skills and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and have excellent problem-solving skills, including researching why records have not been attained.
- Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel and be able to meet deadlines.
