POSITION SUMMARY:


 


We are currently recruiting for a Fiscal Monitor. This is responsible for the collecting, analyzing, and processing financial, accounting, auditing, funding, and budgeting activities of assigned administrations within the Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) and ensures that all rules, codes, and federal and state regulations are followed in performing these functions. This full-time position pays $28/hr, and is located in Phoenix, AZ.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate and apply budget policies and procedures.

  • Review and analyze new or proposed legislation to determine fiscal and organizational impact.

  • Research, analyze, evaluate, and develop findings and make recommendations involving complex local area dynamics.

  • Ensure established standards of continuous quality improvement are met and provides insight into financial duties of the position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications :

Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, methods and techniques of government accounting.

  • Skill in oral and written communication is necessary to develop presentation material, public speaking, and communication with Federal & State partners.

  • Ability to interact with a diverse audience on a professional level.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Proficiency in reading and applying legislation.

  • Ability to multitask and be flexible.

  • Highly motivated.


Education and Experience:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field, preferred.

  • 1 year of experience in financial position.

  • Experience Reading and Applying Legislation.

  • Experience in Government Accounting.



Physical Requirements:




  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Working hours M-F, 8:00am-5:00pm.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

  • Will go on-site occasionally. Travel expenses will be available for reimbursement.
