POSITION SUMMARY:










We are currently recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating medical care for individuals, providing technical support, training staff on medical procedures, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and related duties as assigned. This FULL TIME position starts at $25.00-$32.00 per hour and is located in Chesapeake,VA.




















ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

          • Supervise eight staff. 












































          • Collaborate with Primary Care Physicians, Consultants, and outside providers. 












































          • Coordinate medical care for ten individuals. 












































          • On- call requirement to respond via phone/in-person to emergencies. 












































          • Provide technical support to non-licensed staff regarding healthcare services and medication administration including g-tube feeding & medication administration. 












































          • Training & Monitoring of non-medical staff on g-tube feeding & medication administration, Foley Catheter, and Colostomy Bag. 












































          • Monitor record keeping/documentation for accuracy and detail. 












































          • Perform monthly assessments of resident status. 












































          • Development & review of Nursing Care Plans. 












































          • Dispenses medication to clients as directed by Physicians.












































          • Oversees medical records of medication dispensed to clients.












































          • Maintains inventory of supplies and prescription drugs under direction of supervisor. 












































          • Observes clients receiving medicine and reports reactions to supervisors. 












































          • Interprets physician instructions to clients and responds to client inquiries regarding medical treatment. 












































          • Assists counseling staff with supervisor of residents as needed. 












































          • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems












































          • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.












































          • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.












































          • Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.












































          • Perform other related duties as assigned.






















Required Qualifications :

Required Skills/Abilities:






  • Ability to provide medical care, perform assessments, and administer medications.




  • Capability to manage and lead a team of staff effectively.




  • Proficiency in collaborating with physicians, consultants, and other providers, as well as providing technical support and training to non-licensed staff.




  • Capability to coordinate medical care for multiple individuals, monitor record-keeping, and contribute to departmental goals.




  • Ability to respond to emergencies, develop nursing care plans, and recommend improvements to departmental procedures.




  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.




  • Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).




  • Ability to work collaboratively.




  • Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.




  • Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.




  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.




  • Ability to prioritize tasks.




  • Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.




  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.






Education and Experience:






  • Requires a diploma in practical nursing. 




  • One year minimum of related, full-time, relevant experience. 




  • Requires licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Commonwealth of Virginia or a reciprocal state (according to the Nurse Licensure Compact as prescribed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing). 




  • Requires certification in CPR, Multi- media First Aid, and Handle With Care. 




  • May require a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.






Physical Requirements:




  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, crouching, ect.




  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds at times. 




  • Standard hours of work Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.




  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
