Licensing Program Development Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for a Licensing Program Development Coordinator. This will support the Center for Professional Boards and Licensing. This full-time position pays $39.91/hr, and is located in Providence, RI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Within the Licensing Unit, to be responsible for the total planning, program development and research including reviewing and improving processes and developing standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the Licensing Unit work for program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Study and analyze operational procedures and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
- Coordinate the work of the Licensing Unit with the rest of the Department and other state agencies as needed.
- Review and evaluate state and federal law, rules and regulations to ensure compliance with the provisions of these rules, laws and regulations in the plans and proposals.
- Determine the effectiveness of policies, procedures and methods and initiate alterations as determined by professional review.
- Perform varied public relations duties including speaking with visitors to the Licensing Unit in person, by phone, or via email.
- Attend meetings as the representative for the Licensing Unit when the Manager is unavailable.
- Will look to improve present programs/processes and create new programs/processes to provide better services to the people of the state in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of program planning and development.
- Experience evaluating existing programs and to develop plans for their expansion, modification, or elimination.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with department officials and the ability to coordinate with other departments when necessary.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, one of the social sciences, or a closely related eld.
- Experience gained through employment in a responsible capacity involving program development in the field of human service.
- Or any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Working hours M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
