Position: Member Services Representative
Location: Onsite at CTPF
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Placement Duration: 6-12 months
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour


Job Overview: As a Member Services Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our members, offering them expert guidance and answers to their retirement and pension-related questions. You’ll be instrumental in delivering accurate, timely, and complete information to ensure our members understand their benefits and options. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a professional, supportive environment while contributing to a positive member experience.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Listen & Understand: Actively engage with members to identify their needs and provide tailored solutions.

  • Inform & Guide: Offer precise, up-to-date information on a variety of topics, including pensions, health insurance, disability, retirement, and more.

  • Documentation: Enter detailed notes and update member records with each inquiry or request, ensuring seamless follow-up and resolution.

  • In-Person Counseling: Provide one-on-one guidance to members on pension and health care concerns.

  • Problem Resolution: Ensure all inquiries are resolved, following up with members when necessary.

  • Escalation: Refer complex issues to senior team members or subject matter experts when appropriate.


Position Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of CTPF and reciprocal systems is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.

  • Active listening and problem-solving skills are essential.

  • Technologically proficient with the ability to learn new systems quickly.


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 1-3 years of call center experience is preferred.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and move up to 5 pounds occasionally.

  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods, with some standing and repetitive tasks.


Working Environment:


  • A professional office setting, with phone calls, business machines (copiers, printers), and direct member interactions.
