Peer Support Specialist
Job Title: Peer Support Specialist
Classification: Management Analyst I
Location: 14 Central Ave, New Castle, DE 19720
Schedule: 16 hours/week, 2 days/week - Weekends required
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Start Date: May 26, 2025
Position Overview:
The Peer Support Specialist will leverage their lived experience with mental illness, addiction, co-occurring conditions, and/or recovery to support others currently facing similar challenges. This role plays a vital part in helping individuals build the skills and access the resources needed to lead independent, productive lives within their communities. The specialist also assists individuals transitioning between levels of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer-based support and guidance to individuals in recovery.
- Model successful recovery and share personal experience in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Assist individuals in navigating community resources and social services.
- Support transitions from treatment to community-based living.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and other service providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Lived experience with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery, with a willingness to self-disclose for the purpose of supporting others.
Work Environment:
This is an on-site, part-time position requiring weekend availability.
