Psychiatric Social Worker III
Job Title: Psychiatric Social Worker III (BHCM III)
Location: Hope Center – 365 Airport Rd, New Castle, DE 19720
Schedule: Saturdays, 8 hours/week (weekend availability required)
Pay Range: $28 /hour
Position Overview:
The Psychiatric Social Worker III will provide professional social work services in a psychiatric outpatient setting, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or emotional disturbances. The goal is to help individuals achieve social, emotional, and physical balance and personal independence. This role includes client assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, direct care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The position reports to the Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct client interviews to obtain comprehensive case histories.
- Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans.
- Maintain an active caseload and provide therapeutic support to clients and families.
- Participate in team meetings to evaluate and adjust treatment strategies.
- Provide consultation to staff during crisis situations or handle them directly.
- Serve as a liaison to community and social service resources.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of child, adolescent, and adult psychology.
- Understanding of developmental and mental health disorders.
- Proficiency in counseling techniques and social casework.
- Familiarity with community resources and referral procedures.
- Effective interviewing and communication skills.
- Ability to assess program needs and contribute to service improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences or a related field.
- Experience in case management.
- Experience in clinical treatment, counseling, or eligibility assessment as part of a treatment team.
