POSITION SUMMARY:


 


We are currently recruiting for a Storekeeper responsible for supporting and improving the health of Virginian’s by servicing patients with customer service, and related duties as assigned. This full-time position pays $15 per hour and is located in Newport News, VA.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Independently receives, inspects, inventories, and document incoming shipments of supplies and equipment in accordance with state, district, and department policies and procedures. 


·       Verifies shipments against purchase orders, requisitions, delivery receipts or packing slips. 


·       Reviews request for supplies to ensure accuracy, as well as proper authorization and ensures that appropriate inventory is available.


·       Pulls and verifies correct quantities of supplies are issued.


·       Conducts inventories of supplies and equipment for proper quantity and quality.


·       Provides regular courier service to three satellite facilities within the district; delivering mail, official records, revenues, medical supplies and equipment.


·       Transports infectious waste to central collection point to be disposed of in accordance with Commonwealth of Virginia and Virginia Department of Health policies.


·       Assembles and delivers furniture and equipment throughout the district as necessary.


·       Updates the District’s Automated Inventory Management System to maintain inventory control records for expendable, controlled, and capital material and equipment.


·       Keeps track of turnover of stock items on hand and recommends increases or decreases of stock, as appropriate, to supervisor. 


·       Serves as backup driver and is responsible for maintenance and all activities of the Community Health Education Van and responsible for administrative functions for the Health Education Van.


·       Counsels the public on healthcare initiatives and program objectives. 


·       Performs liaison duties at site locations for the health department and outlying localities.


·       Performs assessment of van activities and provides feedback to various disciplines and supervisors.


·       Assists disciplines and health coordinator in validating existing sites and identifying future site locations based on field evaluations and request.


·       Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.


·       Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.


·       Recommend new approaches, polices, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.


·       Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.


·       Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications :

Required Skills/Abilities:


·       Maintain a valid Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record.


·       Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.


·       Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).


·       Ability to work collaboratively.


·       Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.


·       Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.


·       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


·       Ability to prioritize tasks.


·       Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.


·       Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:


·       High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.


·       Two years of experience working in a warehouse or receiving department, preferred.   


Physical Requirements:


·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


·       Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times. 


·       Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required. 


·       Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
