POSITION SUMMARY:


We are looking for a dedicated Therapist (LGPC) to join our team in providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to incarcerated individuals with Opiate Use Disorder and other related conditions. This full-time role pays $32.00 an hour and is located onsite in Rockville Maryland.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll perform intake assessments, provide one-on-one and group counseling, and complete crucial data reporting to secure continued program funding. You’ll also work with community-based clinics to coordinate discharge plans for continuity of care.



  • Conduct intake assessments to evaluate individuals for Opiate Use Disorder and other co-occurring disorders.

  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy, aiming to motivate participants to engage in the treatment program.

  • Coordinate and facilitate discharge planning, including arranging community clinic follow-ups and ensuring smooth transitions.

  • Collect data for monthly SOR grant reports and complete federal GPRA assessments, including follow-up and discharge documentation.

  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with the full medical team to share client observations and support holistic care.

  • Maintain mandated assessments and data collection, helping to secure ongoing funding for this critical program.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications :

Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Ability to maintain objectivity and understand the nuances of addiction, separating the person from the illness.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a keen ability to discern underlying issues, address challenges tactfully, and foster open communication without confrontation.

  • Support clients' recovery in a direct, compassionate manner.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to track and report data on a timely basis.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


 

Education and Experience:



  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or equivalent, actively seeking supervision toward full licensure.

  • Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), substance use disorders, and/or corrections-based work is highly preferred but not required.

  • A Corrections Background Check is required.
